DON’T BE A DICKBIRD….GET YOUR ASS OUT FOR TONIGHT’S RIDE!!!
Tonight is going to be a blast, so gas up and shine those boots!! We will start out at Pitfire and then we will head east to Hollywood to see our brother Jake and his biological brother, John (AKA – The Sinclair Bros http://www.sinclairbros.com ) open up for the “Left Over Cuties” at Hotel Cafe. This is also the Left Over Cuties’ EP release show! Shirli McAllen and her band are nothing less than amazing. There’s tons to celebrate! Now, since we are going to celebrate a ton and since we will be covering some miles I must reiterate something very important …
THE RULES OF THE RIDE!
As you know our Wednesday night rides have grown exponentially, and so have the risks of bar hopping on motorcycles. The only way we can govern this is to ride as a group at a pace set by pack leaders. There are two appointed VVMC leaders in the front of our rides. Usually, they have been Joe Abramo and myself. The pack leaders are responsible to set the pace of the ride, keep the group together and get to our destination safely. When someone blasts by the pack leaders after they have worked so hard keeping the pack together it causes an UNSAFE ripple effect in the rest of the group. People will naturally speed up to follow the leader as well as break their lines. When that happens the pack leaders also have to speed up to catch Johnny Rocket, get in front of him/her and try to set the pace again! This eventually will attract some bored police officer on the side of the road who will notice this fast moving dark amoeba zoom by him. Unfortunately and ironically it is the slowest guy in the pack, the one trying to maintain a safe speed and at the same time trying to keep up with the pack, that gets pulled over and screwed. This happened to someone a couple of weeks ago and we don’t want it to happen again. Also, if you bring someone new to our rides please inform them of this simple rule…
