Venice Vintage Motorcycle Club - VVMC

Venice Vintage Motorcycle Club

The Black Knight

“You may not meet the nicest people on a triumph, but what they lack in niceties, is more than made up for in their love of their steed.” The Venice Vintage Motorcycle club has built a few choice Hondas for the last few rallies, but after much internal deliberation, this Triumph was selected to be the next in a prestigious line of custom VVMC bike builds, and thus began the journey to build the 2015 VVMC Rally Raffle Bike. The bike was purchased from a friend of a friend in the summer of 2012. It was known to have a few issues, but nothing that couldn’t be fixed with a little love and elbow grease. After the current owner fettled the fine steed back into ridable form, she was ready for a life of service: tough, tough service. From the tequila saturated shores of San Felipe to the peach trees of Hazzard county, this little girl delivered like a middleweight fighter punching above its weight class. This beautiful 1973 750cc Triumph TR7 Tiger was quite notable in this regard. With all the Buzz in the hip crowds going to bobbers, choppers, brats and cafes one would think it would be the only way to build an accepted motorcycle, but if one steps back from labels, the creative process can begin to flow. Aided by a little liquid fuel for higher synapse functionality, brothers Dougie & PDB began kicking around the various ideas and trade-offs for this build. Let’s just say this thing's gonna leave the ghost of Marlon Brando wanting!
